Senior Pest Technician

Ron is our Senior Technician and has been a pest controller for 26 years, building up a wealth of experience and expertise. It’s usually Ron who comes out to assess new contracts and provide quotes, and as supervisor of the team he also provides advice and assistance to his four colleagues.

Ron is a grandfather seven times over and loves the outdoor life. Despite his job he likes nothing better than spending time in the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District with his wife of 37 years, observing wildlife.

Andy has worked as a pest controller for 15 years after relocating to Lancaster from the West Midlands (as is evident from his accent). He really enjoys the variety of work the job brings and the wide range of people he meets every day. Andy particularly relishes the large scale bird proofing jobs he’s involved in.

Since 2014 Andy has sat on the Royal Society of Public Health exam board, writing questions and marking exam papers for pest management.

Outside work Andy enjoys cycling and restoring old motorbikes.

Working with Andy is his whippet Lemmy, who has been on the team since 2014. Lemmy is a first-class rat catcher and it’s a very lucky rat that escapes his clutches.

Pest Technician

Mike is also a very experienced pest controller, having worked in the industry for 23 years. He particularly enjoys working in the rural areas, where his farming background comes in very useful.

Mike’s outside interests include motorcycling (he visits the Isle of Man every year), coaching and playing badminton, and music.

Mike’s other main interest is Freddie his young spaniel, who works with him on a daily basis and is becoming very skilled at finding rats and rat runs.

Pest Technician

Lee began his pest control career in 2000 and prides himself on the excellent services he provides. He frequently comes up with suggestions and new ideas for moving the pest control team forwards.

Away from work Lee is a keen sportsman and musician, and despite his youthful looks he is father to three lively boys.

Assistant Technician

James is the latest addition to the team. After working in the print industry for 17 years, in August 2017 he became our Assistant Technician. James is looking forward to learning a new set of skills under the watchful eyes of his highly skilled colleagues.

In his free time James enjoys walking in the Lakes and cooking for his young family.

Rat Catcher

Lemmy the whippet joined the team in 2014 as a five year old after his last owners could not keep him anymore. He got straight down to work chasing rats and it didn’t take long before he was up to speed (literally!). His particular skill is catching rats that are trapped inside, he has caught and killed many now and does it very quickly. He will also locate dead rat bodies in buildings for us.

Rat Catcher

Freddie is an English Springer Spaniel from a local working family.
He is named after the great Freddie Spencer, world champion motorcycle racer in the mid 80’s. Freddie is used to find live rat runs and holes and is also very good at finding rat carcasses. In the future we hope to train him on Bed Bug detection.
